Pastor Ezra L. Tillman, Jr., is a proud native of Detroit, Michigan. Having been spiritually nourished at the New Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of the late Dr. John L. Webb, Pastor Tillman was baptized in June of 1989. He later accepted the call of God into the Gospel Ministry in 2002.
Obtaining his Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Henry Ford College, Pastor Tillman being a proponent of education, graduated from Midwestern Baptist Bible College with a Bachelors of Religious Education Degree (B.R.E.) in 2005. In addition, he began to study at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California and later at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois. In May 2016, he graduated from the Andersonville Theological Seminary, earning a Master’s of Ministry- Biblical Counseling Degree.
In 2009, Pastor Tillman he was asked to serve as Assistant Pastor of the Greater Middle Missionary Baptist Church in Royal Oak Township, Michigan. During his tenure there, over one-hundred souls were added to the Kingdom of God within a year. Having been found faithful, in 2011 he was elected as the Pastor of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and served there until being called to First Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan, in May of 2014. Since arriving to First Trinity, numerous souls have been added to the Kingdom of God, new ministries has been birthed, and keen focus on Christian education has been fundamental to the spiritual life of the church.
Pastor Tillman has been appointed several positions at the national, state, and local level. As a result of his leadership during the Flint Water Crisis, Pastor Tillman currently serves as the Midwest Regional Representative of Disaster Relief of the National Baptist Convention, USA. He serves as Treasure of the Congress of Christian Education in the Wolverine State Convention. In addition to that, Pastor Tillman is an Instructor in the Great Lakes District Congress, and has served as Vice Moderator at Large of the Great Lakes District Baptist Association. He is also a member of the Micah Leadership Council (People for the American Way Foundation) and the NAACP.
Pastor Tillman is an evangelist at heart and has been a leader in responding to the Flint Water Crisis through both direct support of the affected community and a public advocate. On February 1st 2016, Pastor Tillman and the First Trinity M.B.C hosted the ‘Environmental Justice Rally’. As a result, over 500,000 bottles of donated water was given to the citizens of Flint. Under his leadership, the First Trinity M.B.C has been able to provide relief to the community by routinely sending volunteer teams on a weekly bases to deliver water, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and baby wipes to several senior citizen homes, daycare centers, local residents, and the YMCA just to name a few. Pastor Tillman is a visionary leader. In lieu of the Flint Water Crisis, to provide a more permanent solution, he founded the Revive Community Health Center.
Standing on the side of righteousness and justice, Pastor Tillman emerged to the frontlines as the opening speaker in April 2016 at the Democracy Awaking Rally in Washington D.C. He is an active evangelist across the United States, called upon for a variety of conferences and revivals for his thrilling, dynamic, anointed soul stirring approach to gospel preaching and singing. He has committed himself to empowering, embracing and enriching mankind though the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
He is married to the former Catrina Monique Jones and has been blessed with three sons: Ezra Lee Tillman III, Micah Nathaniel Tillman, and Isaac Christopher Tillman. Read more about our Pastor Tillman
First Lady Catrina Tillman is a native of Oak Park, Michigan, the proud daughter of George Jones Jr. and Linda Harp. She completed her undergraduate studies at Ferris State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising. Upon graduating, Lady T began her career at GM Planworks, the Agency of Record for General Motors advertising.
As a proponent of education, she decided to pursue a Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix, graduating with a Master’s in Business Administration. Being career driven, Lady Tillman resigned from GM Planworks to expand her career as a National Print Buyer for Team Detroit, the Agency of Record for Ford Motor Company Advertising.
Lady Tillman’s, joy is being the proud wife of Pastor Ezra L. Tillman, Jr. and the mother of their 3 adorable sons, Ezra III, Micah, and Isaac. In support of her husband’s Pastorship, Lady Tillman graciously resigned from her position at Team Detroit to fully commit to her role as a stay at home mom.
Lady Tillman has a tremendous passion for God’s Word, coupled with a love for God’s people. Her Facebook devotionals and “Word of the Day” postings have touched and changed the lives of many. The National Baptist Woman Magazine featured one of her devotionals, “Stepping High: A Lesson from My Stilettos” in the Summer 2012 edition of the Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoys talking about the practical things of life while being able to find God in them.
It is her desire that God’s children humbly seek Him to understand their purpose in life and operate in confidence knowing that what God has destined for them is just for them! Her favorite scripture is “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye” (Psalm 32:8).
